Captures legendary singer-songwriter Blaze Foleys earliest recordings. Simple, straightforward and strong, Sittin By The Road contains12 tracks recorded during Blazes tree house days in Georgia.The tracks featured here were recorded in the mid-1970s on Blazes home reel-to-reel machine he carried with him on his travels between Texas and ruralGeorgia. These songs showcase Blazes talent in early form. The album includes several of Blazes songs now considered classics such as Cold, Cold World;
Election Day; Clay Pigeons & If I Could Only Fly. The album also boasts three Foley songs that do not appear on any other recordings; The Way You Smile, FatBoy, and the title track.

At the time of Blazes tragic murder in 1989 he was little known outside of Austins renegade songwriter circles. He is now revered among the pantheon ofTexas great songwriters. Townes Van Zant and Lucinda Willliams both penned moving tributes to Blaze. His songs have been covered by John Prine, MerleHaggard, Lyle Lovett, Billy Strings, and Willie Nelson.
