VARIOUS : The Buddy Holly Story (O.S.T) LP Deluxe Edition
Buddy Holly, the man who inspired legends, exerting a major influence on The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and Elton John is one of the most revered musicians in rock and roll history. The release in 2018 of Buddy Holly With The Royal Philharmonic hit the Billboard Top Ten and was a hit around the globe, sixty years since he first debuted in the charts. In 1978 Gary Buseys breakout roll as the rock and roll legend in The Buddy Holly Story, garnered an Academy Award nomination (alongside Robert DeNiro, Warren Beatty, Laurence Olivier, and winner Jon Voight) and the soundtrack won the Award for Best Adaptation Score, beating out Quincy Jones The Wiz among others. Busey won the best actor award from the National Society of Film Critics. The biopic remains to this day, the definitive legacy film.
The expanded soundtrack to the film The Buddy Holly Story features 22 tracks, including 11 tracks which were not included on the original release, such as Thatll Will Be The Day, Mockingbird Hill and Tennessee Waltz performed by Gary Busey, Chantilly Lace performed by Gailard Sartain (as The Big Bopper) and You Send Me performed by Paul Mooney (as Sam Cooke).
