Punk rock band Against Me! recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of the release of their seventh studio album, Shape Shift with Me.

The album followed Transgender Dysphoria Blues, which was the bands first album since leader Laura Jane Grace came out as a transgender woman, and Shape Shift with Me continued to touch on some recurring themes surrounding the embrace of her gender.

Delicate, Petite & Other Things Ill Never Be has Grace reflecting lyrically, I want to be more real than all of the others / I want to be more real than all of the rest, with Haunting, Haunted, Haunts using metaphor to convey personal feelings,I know the feeling well of longing for something thats lost / I feel you like a phantom limb.

Though the album as a whole has Against Me! showing up in full form, exploring a range of conversations and sounds, as a raging, authentic, and all-encompassing displaying the attitude and edge fans have come to embrace and expect from the group.
